Opal is a rare, precious crystal ranging from colourless and translucent white, blue and yellow iridescent flashes and tones.

This particular piece is sky-blue.

Also known as Hyalite.

Opal is formed when the cracks from weathered rocks are filled with silica gel. Opal usually has a water content comprising upto 10%.
