Malachite is a beautiful crystal with silky, bright and dark green colours with striking black banding.
It is a mineral comprising of copper carbonate hydroxide. The black banding indicates the absence of water in the crystal.
They can form different crystal habits that show is different textures on the outside, such as Velvet and this one; which is botryoidal. This habit gives the appearance of bubbles of the surface of the crystal, this particular specimen has little microcrystalline bubbles.
