Vera Cruz is an incredibly beautiful and very rare variant of Amethyst that is only found from the Piedra Parada region in Veracruz, Mexico.

Its appearance is astonishingly different from the variations from Brazil and Uruguay. Its habit forms into points and spokes that are often naturally terminated and has a distinctive violet to pale lilac colour.

It forms in this way because it forms in igneous rock called vesicular andesite and forms in sceptre-like crystalline points.
