Hematite on Feldspar is a stunning showcase of crystal twinning; when one crystal grows on top of another. It is sand yellow in colour with grey-metallic patterns.

Feldspar and Hematite are both common minerals that are found in abundance, but together as one mineral is a very rare occurrence. The Hematite forms within pores in the Feldspar.

This occurs when magma from volcanoes is rich in Iron and the Feldspar and Hematite grow together during the cooling process.
