Shangaan Chiredzi is a very new and prized variety of Amethyst found only in the Chiredzi District of Masvingo Province in South-East Zimbabwe.
The Shangaan Tribe mine the Amethyst found in the Chibuku Mine located in Chiredzi; giving this beautiful type of Amethyst its name.
Shangaan Amethyst is a gorgeous variety of Amethyst, different from other Amethysts due to its deep purple colours and inclusions of Clear Quartz, Smoky Quartz & Hematite; giving this crystal brown and orange notes throughout.
These also exhibit Super Phantoms, which are layers of overlapping growths in the crystal and visible to the naked eye. Also known as ghost patterns.
